- Any forms of literature are eligible for entry.
- Submit a ten minute set of your best work
- The work must be solely your own. Copyright will remain with the author, but by submitting you are granting ‘Isolation Fest’ permission to post your work on Youtube and our website.
- We welcome group submissions – as long as these have been recorded pre- self isolation, or over a collective platform like Zoom and screen recorded. DO NOT meet as a group especially to record for this – this is the #IsolationFest and we don’t want to aid in the spread of Coronavirus.
- Record yourself reading as you would at a traditional literature reading. Filming on a mobile phone is fine. Make sure the phone is horizontal, that you have a blank background behind you, that you are speaking loudly, without background noise.
- Send this footage via WeTransfer to isolationfest@gmail.com OR upload it to your personal YouTube channel on ‘private’ and send the link to isolationfest@gmail.com
- We may ask you to re-record your entry if we like your stuff but the video quality isn’t sufficient
- Provide the text of the work you’ve read, these will become subtitles/ captions on the videos.
- Please provide a 50 word biography.
- This venture is not paid. I’m volunteering to facilitate this because I know what it’s like to be socially isolated. Hopefully this will put a smile on the faces of those who can’t go out due to their health issues and/or the current global pandemic.
- Anyone of any age can enter from anywhere in the world.
- I will edit out any pauses/ you turning the camera on/ off.
- Submissions will close at midnight on 8th April 2020.
- If you have any questions please get in touch with me at isolationfest@gmail.com
- The festival will run from the 16th – 19th April 2020, and will consist of a curated selection of readings, released daily, from both new and established performers. These will be posted on Youtube, and embedded into this site.
